That's a beauty! Still in use Greg?
Nice old schrade. I have a Puma Trail guide from 1980 I bought while in my first job.
I purchased this in 1978, at a Woolco. I can date it because I had just started working full time.
I purchased this to replace the Schrade in the early 80s but it never did. They're made locally and are a high quality

They are nice, I had gotten so used to the Schrade that I couldn't switch, the Grohman only went on one 3 day hunting trip when it was new

I like the Grohmann design, must make for a hell of a chopper. Almost half way between a knife and a machete. I have to agree the Schrade as a great old school look to it.
Beautiful knife, Greg. My first fixed blade knife was a Schrade Old Timer. This Schrade Old Timer:(Image removed from quote.)The sheath is still in decent shape, but clearly showing its age and use.(Image removed from quote.)Blade is still nice and sharp, but could use a touch-up to get it back to shaving. My uncle gave me this knife when I was 12 years-old and it meant the world to me. Other hunting knives have come and gone, but the old Schrade is a keeper.
Hadn't thought of it that way, but a kewl idea, indeed.

I purchased this in 1978, at a Woolco. I can date it because I had just started working full time. The original Sheath slowly disintegrated so a local saddle maker made me a new one. The current Shrade company still makes this pattern calling it the golden spike, I've held it and sadly it feels nothing like the original, much lighter.anyway here's a couple of pic's

Yep, I have an old Schrade belt knife too (the type with a Delrin handle). It's a very well made knife.Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I had to dig out my old ones. I haven't used them in YEARS. They have served me a real well and have been on many, many hunting and fishing trips over the years.
