Their fixation on funky Spartans and Huntsmen is driving me batty.
I want these "special" scales on a Climber or a Mountaineer, or a Super Tinker/Tinker Deluxe.. anything but a blimmin' Huntsman!

About the Damascus - I wonder if the price will go down again to ca. 220 euros or are we stuck at 350 or whatever the last one was?

My wife wants the Berry Red Classic and I’m excited for a Damascus Deluxe Tinker!  Price will be a factor on that one.

Hey Ron, seems you got the alox color bug now... Remembered you only prefer the standard silver ones...

I think I got all the silver I need... and would like an alox colors badge. Farmers and/or Classics.
Besides silver I have gold and orange.

If all goes as planned I will visit the IWA in Nürnberg. I will visit the Victorinox stand and take some pics. I am curious about their offerings and prices.
Last year they had masses of cork screws just laying around...

The 2016 Damascus was around €150 new, seems like a deal now.

One of the 2011 models would be nice too, but way out of my price range now. I would probably want to carry it anyway.

And do you still have it?

Cuz with today's prices I would be very tempted to sell it, if I had one  :D

Has anyone heard or seen dates of release for the Limited Edition Alox? I think April is usually when they release but was not sure.

Two pics made at the IWA 2018 show in Germany. The IWA is comparable to the SHOT Show.

Victorinox was not willing to share ANY paper information on it, nor on any other product. In 2017 they had at least the small brochures lying around.
I asked politely for some brochures or a catalog and the answer was: "We only give brochures to retail sellers, not to consumers. Go and see for it in a shop".
Such an arrogance!!

There are two possibilities:
1. They have to cut down on costs.
2. They think the knives will sell anyway, no matter how the public thinks if them.

Well, I was really shocked by so much arrogance and consumer dislike. At the booth of Swiza knives it was totally different. They had attention to everyone interested in their products and Swiza's beautiful catalog was for free.

Shame they turned down your request for a catalogue. I'm sure they're doing better now than ever, money-wise, now that they know they can sell the same knife many times to the same customers simply by calling it a limited edition.
Swiza, on the other hand, can't afford to be arrogant - they need all the friends they can get!
I'm looking forward to finding out how much the Damascus Tinker Deluxe will cost. For some reason the 91mm Damascuses have been kind of unimpressive - I skipped all of them so far and don't regret it a bit. I'll probably skip this one too.

I like damascus blades, a lot. But Vic prices are crazy. I have several high end hunting folders with damascus blades for much less money.

Yes, Vic prices are crazy. But they get crazier with time. If you can scrape together the cash they are a great investment - and I doubt the same can be said of most Damascus folding blades.
Nevertheless, this Tinker probably won't sell like hot cakes, and like the dismal Spartan Damascus which nobody wanted, will still be around next year and the year after that. Eventually it will sell out and increase in value but ZZZZZZ boring, it's not for me.
