Favorite 130 mm
on: February 19, 2018, 10:01:52 PM
I’ve always felt I know SAKs backwards and forwards... but there are so many new models I feel like I’m getting outdated.

Just ordered an S14, my first post-Wenger evo-style.

Would really like to try a 130 mm too. Never had one. I love the tool selection on the Outrider, but really like the design of the various Ranger Grips.

What are your favorite or recommended 130s?

I quite like the green Rangergrip 61. Worth noting however that this model, with no saw, weighs slightly more than an Outrider without offering much more blade length - literally about 3mm more cutting edge. While the Outrider gives you a saw and scissors and a long tiddly screwdriver on top.

But if I could have one and one only it would have to be the wood-handled Rangerwood 55. I have the Wenger version.

To be honest, these are all lovely but they don't get much pocket time.

All very nice!

I’m going to try the RangerGrip 79.

Great choice  :tu:
The 130mm saw is the best of the bunch and really worth having.

+1
I like the tool loadout on my Ranger (phillips instead of corkscrew, second blade) but wooden scales would be nicer. :dd:

My favorite is the Gardener. Large blade and saw, and really large scissors. One day I´ll buy a Boatsman to pair it up with, and have a fairly complete set of tools in 130mm..

I don't currently own any 130mm SAKs but have been on the prowl for a Wenger RangerGrip 90 for over a year. Everyday I hope to see my saved Ebay search show a match, but so far nothing
