I've thought about jumping on the preorder but have not convinced myself yet. I'm a SOG user for sure but don't know how much use it will see. I barely use or carry my Power Access lately and it's essentially that tool. I must say I detest the new SOG molle sheath. Poor Velcro on, one is flat wore out and it's not been used for very long.

Same here, W,  I pre-ordered one.

I had a SOG Paratool for a while, great little MT. I gave it to my brother who, I believe, subsequently lost it.

I'm looking forward to trying out the PA Deluxe and seeing how it stacks up against my ST 300.  :tu:

It's the tool I'm more interested in for quality
The sheaths you get with a MT aren't normally great anyway :tu:

How much bigger is this tool? And how does it compare to a PowerLock? I mean, is this now essentially going to be replacing the PowerPlay, too?

I haven't handled one yet, but it weighs in at 8.7oz or 247g according to SOG, which makes it one big honking tool.

According to the Comparative Weight Chart on the Multitool Encyclopedia that puts the PowerAccess Deluxe on par with the original SuperTool.

8.7oz is actually fantastic considering the tool loadout. :o
The PowerAssist and PowerLock are as heavy or heavier. I weighed the OG powerlock at 9oz +\- .3 oz based on toolset, powerlock 2.0 at 9.3oz, and powerassist at 9.45oz.
The PowerAccess deluxe has all outside tools and more of them. :)

Glad I pre-ordered one and can't wait to do the challenge. :multi:

Indeed. I'm excited as well! Looks like a nice step forward for SOG on their heavy duty line for sure. It has got to be better than the powergrab. :multi:

I am just hoping that SOG got that weak lockup on the Access tools taken care of. I fixed my access lockup with a needle file, but SOG MTs are too expensive to have to modify. :ahhh

I'm curious for sure....

....and expecting to hear that they've shipped soon!

Since joining MTo, I've been focusing more of my interest on belt-carried mutlitools. This coincides with a change in lifestyle and a greater appreciation for a pliers-based multitool. For better or worse, MTo has prompted me to explore some new, heavier-duty multitools. This seems like a logical tool to try out. Certainly seems packed with functionality.
