That's a shame. Especially since I see how some people make money. But if it is of any comfort, I've just heard that my third application project is in development. Ofc I have nothing to do with it, nor does my friend and partner in developing those things. Third time someone took our idea, gave it to a their team and we're not seeing anything from it. Truth be told I can't be bitter because the first 2 were spectacular failures that cost an arm and a leg, and this one is actually more complex and relies even more on our knowledge from years of working in that particular field where the apps would have an application
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

That is cool, Lynn! Nutty about sums up a majority of MT users here.

You'll definitely need a separate mascot for those sak-only and/or "minimalist" members here though.  :D :pok:
Raises hand
Ahhh, so something like Nutty holding a SAK with some of the tools snapped off.

Actually Lynn there are other styles of comics where your drawing style would be amazing. And it would be a shame that the talent and /or time you've spent getting better just go unused

When I was in my mid-20s, I did some small press comic stuff. Mostly, I worked as the colorist. I got good enough that I was invited to Wildstorm studios (part of Image Comics) for a try-out as a colorist. This was about 8 months before the entire industry essentially collapsed.

So... Some years later, after the collapse of the IT industry in about 2001, i went about teaching myself 3d modelling, and eventually got an internship at a video game company, building and texturing 3d models for a MMO videogame. I wasn't hired after 6 months of basically giving them free work. Then after about 6 years more work on my own, I got a 2-week gig doing starship renders, and deck plans for a supplement to the 'Serenity' role playing game called 'Six-shooters and Spaceships'.

That work looked like this...
(Image removed from quote.)

It was based on models I'd painstakingly made over the course of YEARS as a fan. Untold countless hours of research to be as close to screen-accurate as possible. But, if you guys go out and look, you might find copies of that book still for sale. My name's right on it as co-author and everything.

I'm sure there's a way to make something even slightly close to minimum wage doing art. I know people do it. I know there are people who have managed to make a good living doing it. Me? No matter how hard I try, it hasn't earned me jack squat, for MASSIVE hours spent trying to break into the industry. Same with writing. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
That rendering is beautifully done and they are crazy for not having hired you for the long-term.

I like big MUTs and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty blade
And a SOG thing in your face

Baby got SAK... Sir Vics-a-Lot

OK it needs some work...

I don't like mascots (Here I go being grumpy and all, but what else can a man of my advanced age be?!  :D) but you really do draw well.   :tu:

But the snake does not seem to be in happy with it's place in life. The lion also looks a bit annoyed on the same account...

Yeah, yeah I know, mind in the gutter and all...
