Modding my ST300 EOD
on: March 04, 2018, 07:31:00 AM
When I first got the EOD a few years back, I immediately bought a MUT plier head and swapped it into the frame.

Tonight I swapped out the knife blade for an SOG wire stripper assembly.

My next mod I need some help with. I want to cut down a 1/4” drive bit holder and drill n tap it to fit where the C4 spike is located.  I need to find a really good machine shop as I just don’t have the proper tools.

Any ideas??

I realize that I will not be able to close the handles with such a set up. But the tool can be carried along with the ST...

I actually have an idea!!

Take one of these 3D Phillips adapters and bore it to accept a cut down C4 spike, a press fit tightness. That should work!

If done, the handles won’t close all the way, but I feel they’ll close enough to still easily fit in any sheath or in the eye glass case...

I’ve got to stop thinking about this stuff in the wee hours!!!

Ok, plan B....I’ll just stick the adapter on the Phillips bit like it was intended.

What about some loctite epoxy weld or J-B weld etc, they might do the job.

I’m not so sure I want it to be a permanent attachment.   I mean, I sure don’t need a C4 spike for its “intended “ use. Haha. But I would like to be able to poke a hole in something if needed.

Who knows....

That fixed it. I usually just use Tapatalk and didn’t realize my time setting was off. Thanks for the info!

Oh, well, just um, refer to the “idiot” comment above. Maybe I should just stop while I’m behind.

Haha!!!
