Getting a few astrolux A01 lights for $6.70 each is mighty tempting.

I made a BG account yesterday to order some cheap key ring prybars, so I had to have a look.  Just ordered the Astrolux A01 Nichia 219B for £5.87 (and free shipping).

This makes 3 torches I have ordered this weekend --- a 'free' (but 38p postage) Mini LED Flashlight 3W 300Lumens EDC LED Torch from another site.  And a Manker E02 from e-bay.

The Manker is very nice I hear.  :tu:
I order the E03H in Nicha, last weekend.

The Astrolux A01... Probably a great buy for less than £6, but I hear that the drivers are not what they used to be?  :-[
Ah well... At least its a Nichia light.  :tu:

The Astrolux A01 Nichia arrived today.  Comes with spare O-ring and key chain ring.

Looks and feels like a nice torch.  :)

What about the electrical side? PWM, modes, etc?

The Astrolux A01 works like the Thrunite Ti3 --- twisty, with low --> medium --> high.  Repeat the cycle twice to get strobe.  When compared with the Ti3 (cool white) the A01 (Nichia) to my eye the levels of each mode seems similar.  I got no idea about PWM or electrics (because I am not that into torches, so don't know what to look for).

Oh, no pocket clip.  (I don't mind, but YMMV)

PWM=very very fast on-off blink that you can usually see on low mode if you take a pic of the beam on a wall or move around it fast while pointing it at yourself.

OK, well, no visible on-off blink visible to my eyes (and I also tried the Thrunite Ti3, and that too had no blink).   :salute:

The Thrunite Ti3 is a good control, because it does not have PWM at awl.
