Aww, you didn't get the Pestilence or the Death Dagger?  I know Jay's got both of 'em in stock.

When the Piggyback and Baconmaker folders arrive I wouldn't mind taking a
closer look at both.  The other fixed blade units I like as well but would see quite a
bit less carry because of their size.

It's pretty green that's for sure.  I like it though, they put some imagination into the line and
it's different.  I think it should do well for them.  At least it's not black G-10.  If I see another
knife done that way... I'll puke.  :D

I really did break the bank today and picked up a CS, Kudu as well.

Yup, been a while since I bougt a new tactical piece. I actually collect these as well, and have a fairly large collection. Carry one as regularly as I do a slippie too. Been interested in these since I first saw them, the build on them is excellent. Might end up getting a few more of these Ultilitac II's.

I would suggest trying the paperstone versions too. Same (OK, similar) style, less weight, no metallic smell on hands

I would say that the AK47 has the most comfortable handle out of any folder I own. It just sinks into my hand perfectly, even with a reverse grip!

A traditional Japanese Higonokami friction folder (not, as far as I can see, made by the official Higonokami manufacturer).
From the seller:
-Blade - Japanese YASUKI High-Carbon Steel.
-Hardness Rockwell C scale - 59-61.

This knife makes a Mora look complicated. We are talking SRM money here, for a Japanese traditional product.
8cm blade.
The grind is similar to the scandi grind, reasonably sharp and even on both sides.
This is one of the basic models; no fancy metal handles.

Picture above - Bottom right: maker given as BIG MAN

These arrived today:
From the left:
SRM SP-ALH02  Ganzo SP G707  Enlan EL01KH  Enlan EL05

Comparison shot between the Tan coloured EL01 and the Black one. Note the different screw top used at the pivot.

The EL01 is sort of a classic....

The SRM was a replacement for the one I gave away.

The Ganzo is an automatic (smooth...) opening knife, 440C steel, has dark wood inserts in the handles and came quite sharp and with even grinds (some people have had problems with that).

The ELO5 has beautifully finished wooden handles and an unusually shaped blade.
On mine, however the linerlock barely engaged.
This is not a huge problem and by opening and shutting it a few times it is already getting better, though I may still use the file too.

This and the Ganzo are not really cheap, for Chinese, knives so this problem should not have existed.

Short fat blades comparison, for no real reason:
