I like it, and the clear one as well when it finally arrives.  I wonder though how it's going
to fair when the pivot is lubed with oil and stuff gets inside it how will it look?

You know I wonder if that's the reason they didn't do the clear one. The blue is opaque enough that you  can't see any gunk inside, but the clear would show everything, and you can't clean it since the entire knife is pinned.

Yeah you could be right.  I didn't realize they weren't bringing out the clear one.

Its supposed to be rosewood, just a bit dark, and my picture and its post-processing processing made it a bit darker too.

Coast.  440C, Chinese made and decent (I wouldn't say spectacular) F+F, but I got it for $0.96 on clearance.  Just about the only "gentleman's" folder that I've got.

Hey looks good for $0.96. I would buy about 10 at that price.  :tu:

Couldn't agree more. How bad a knife could it really be? @ $0.96, when it gets dull throw it in the camping butterknife box.

A couple of my folders -

An Emerson SARK  - this is the blade I keep clipped to my life vest when I'm out in the sea kayak.

A Kershaw Chive - One of the knives I like most in my EDC pile.

The police model is pretty nice.

Just not exactly what you want when you're upside down in Lake Superior and caught up in rigging.  ;)

Oddly enough, it actually takes and keeps a pretty reasonable edge.  The very narrow blade keeps it from being a daily-use slicer but it's not bad at all.

For the price, it's far better than 'not bad at all'. Great score!

Not bad, actually.  Tekut is the OEM in China and they supply police forces.  The steel is currently a 440A type.

It used to be advertised as 440c, but was switched over some time in the last year and now it's listed as "440 Stainless".

A local store was selling Coast knives for 25% off, so I was thinking of grabbing a small $10 knife (reduced to $7.50).  I don't remember if it was labeled as "440 stainless" or "440C", but it's good to know that it is a reliable company.

Want to try a non-tactical folder so got this, a bit cheaper and lighter than buck 110, which I don't know why but pretty expensive up here. Turned out to be bigger than I thought, pretty much on par with 110.

These arrived today.

From the top:
Two Enlan SP-M015 with wooden handles
An Enlan SP-M016 flipper with bottle opener, glass breaker and seatbelt cutter
A Sanrenmu B4734 Flipper with 2 colour G10 handles, a very beautifull knife with smooth opening action.

In comparison with two Iconic Chinese knives:

looking at the tools offered by the M015:

and I must say again just how beautifull  is the Sanrenmu 734... Blue...

Let's play a game!  The game is, what North American brand knives are those OEMs for?

Top, Gerber Freeman
Middle, not sure but I think it's an old Boker Magnum Rescue model
Bottom is the somewhat rare (and short-lived) CRKT Blue Pointer

I guess Enlan is an OEM for Gerber.  If that were true it would probably increase my respect for the latter.

Can you wave the SRM?

Can you wave the SRM?

The opening works very smoothly, so if you push hard on the flipper bit that sticks out from the top of the knife when it is closed it opens (the blade is held securely in the closed position) and locks open. If you add some wrist movement too, then it opens a bit faster, though it is not necessary.
It is quite smooth and looks good too. Lots of Wawwww factor.
The quality and movement is a step above the Enlan/Bee ones here.

I was looking at the Enlan site and remembered your comment:

We are the approved supplier of Gerber, and have processed or manufactured for American brands such as Buck and SOG
