thanks fella's.
Not sure which number that one is Def.  There is a little custom job on the handle.  Smoothed over the end because I like to pocket carry it for those romantic picnics. :D  I also sanded off the original finish on the beechwood.  They are great knives as long as I remember to give the blade a little cookin' oil after using or washing it.

Yeah, I have a few now, and have had many more over the years.  Those carbon steel blades rust like crazy if not maintained, but they also take a wicked edge!

Jeepers can you get those things sharp!    I got a bit casual about closing one up once and didn't notice I'd taken a clean slice of skin off the side of my finger unti it started to get sore.  I took that as a lesson and went back to SAKs ;)

Those opinel blade are almost zero grind, put a 40° edge on there it's a wicked cutter (it won't hold 30°, I tried).

The Douk-douk  >:D

Takes a wicked edge but the rest is just sucky IMO.  I find it difficult to open, dangerous to lose, uncomfortable to use and just fugly.

Can you tell I'm not a fan?  :D

A couple of pages ago in this thread Gadget Guy offered to send me a "quality" knife. Well, he did.

How do you say thanks to someone who just sent you, with no strings attached, this:

Erm, thanks John :tu:

Ya know you got a great little Grippy there. It looks like the D2 steel one so ya know what that means. You will never have to really sharpen the thing as much. You will love it!
