I have to admit that your comment went over my head.

According to my wife that's nothing new.LOL.

The standard buck 110 has a lot of brass parts on the handle, which means that every time you use it your hands get a strong metallic smell. Other metals do not do that so easily, so based on your picture I expect that the custom model will not have this problem.

I've never experienced that, then again I don't exactly have a bloodhound nose.
I just liked brass even more after learning about this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oligodynamic_effect - the Oligodynamic effect

I've never been aware of such a phenomenon.Perhaps it could be your own biochemistry that creates such a reaction.

In any event,I protect all of my knives with a good coat of wax. This slows down the abrasion that naturally occurs while inserting or withdrawing the knife from your pocket or sheath.

Doubtful, although if she cooks and cleans it would be a bargain.

Show & Tell........

Cold Steel Voyager XL Clip Point PE.

This will be combined with the same large pepper spray I have in my car and carried daily to and from my (work) parking area during the 10 minute walk to the office

I'm going to sheepdog the smurf out of a few people in the very near future.....next drunk street-walking POS will feel the burn.

The NiteIze Pock-its is a complete loss, neither knife not pepper spray fits
