Actually, once you get familiar with it (which does take a while to be fair), the opening and closing becomes quite easy. You do need to be careful with the closing though, as the blade comes to rest on a spring mechanism, and I've notched it already :(

The trick is not to just let the blade fly, but to control it (slow it down) with the toggle.

Best of all though, it's fun to watch people injure themselves with it  >:D
I used to come here a lot.

Here are most of my sharps - some more are in my drawers and pockets 8)

I´m a Spyderco fan and user, so in 90% of all cases I carry a Spyderco. But I like some other knives too, so I do not collect just a singel brand, but buy knives I like.

Great idea those. What's the longest blade length on them and does it lock?

It's the same size as the Buck 110 - blade 3-3/4" (9.5 cm)

The permanent clip point blade does not lock, the exchangeable blade has a lock.

they have some really neat blades out there.  walmart up here is our source for buck knives.  I have a little buck stainless frame lock unit made in china but you'd never know it unless you look at the small print on the blade.

That's a shape of blade you either love, hate, or start to like eventually after you eyeball it for awhile.  It's an amazing knife though.  It has Kershaw's assisted opening and when you hit the flipper this thing springs forth with authority and locks up solid and tight.  What I really love though is the lock release which one might mistake for the thumb stud.  Just push it forward with your thumb to unlock the blade and in the same motion use your thumb to close it up.  About the only thing I did to the knife was remove the clip and bend it a bit so it didn't have so much flair at the bottom.   The handle is really grip'y with the rubber like inserts which makes it a bit difficult to remove from my jeans but I'm hoping over time that it will smooth out.
Now I've just gotta find some stuff to cut up.  :)

I don't know what Kershaw's up too lately but they dropped their Ken Onion contract so we won't see them doing things together again and they also removed themselves from "Blade Forums" which has quite a few people left wondering.  ???

Man you are on a roll there, 5 new folders in a couple of days.

What kershaw did is strange indeed, consider their most popular models are Onion design.
