It is, very light weight, and probably one of the least scary spydercos, great EDC.

A bunch of them will be added to the "knives" section of the website here when I get them typed up. Some things just need to be known about.  ;)

Whichdawg,

How do you like the Griptilian?,   I've always wanted one but find them to be a bit pricey.  Are the handles zytel or plastic?.

Nutz the Griptillian uses a plastic that they give a tecky name to, but it is a reinforced plastic but it does work well. I would suggest that if they interest you look really into the D2 model. It holds an edge forever.

Thanks Hawkc. for the heads up.   Is D2 easy to sharpen?.   I think Benchmades current steel offering on the griptilian is 154CM , which I've used and it's not bad either.

hey Nutznboltz sorry I took so long to respond!
we luv our Griptilian. Axis locks are wonderful! (fun too). Well made, secure grip (hence the name)
and a nice overall design (in many models, I want more).

the scales/handles are what they call, Noryl GTX which is a fancy type of plastic and they do initially feel cheap
and sound cheap but they are NOT! they are strong and can take a beating, abuse; chemical, weather, dirt, all
kinds of nasty stuff that would worry me with other scales, so I like them (took a little bit).

you consider 60-70 u.s. dollars pricey? are you related to lame?(funny member here) :P  I thought it was a bargin for what
you get and the lifetime warranty. If you want to know anything else just ask ;) :tu:

Whichdawg,  thanks for the response.  I really like the griptilians which is why I'd like to get one.  Here in the great white north they run 100 for the mini and 114 for the full size, which is considerable compared to spyderco's and cold steel's.  I might still get one though.  Should have gotten one when our dollar was on par with the usd.

yeah that would have been a great time! :twak:

I'd suggest to keep checking, in the next few weeks is the time for sales!
if I see any I'll let you know ;)

ohh and I'd stick with 154CM for now, D2 is sweet but harder to sharpen
and 154CM is a really good/easy to sharpen stainless! (cheaper too).

I have D2 leek and feels it's no harder or easier to sharpen compare to 154CM. D2 is only avaliable from cabela's, which won't ship to canada because it's a "deadly weapon" (that's what they told me).

most people I've talked to and read don't feel that way, including me!
it's a different metal and so it has different properties. a small percentage
don't have a problem with it (sharpening wise).

For someone who has little or no sharpening experience I recommend 154CM,
which more people find easier.

If it's on DX it's a knockoff.

It's a sweet little folder gene. I was holding that thing when we were at that store in Mega Mall. Due to budgetary constraint I was not able to get it. I still hope to get one.

We cant't afford pricey knives so we are just contented with cheapo from DX. You are lucky you can always get what you want.

Even with cheapo we can  be equally happy to play with what we can afford.

Not everything from DX is knock-off anyway. I got a little Fenix torch from there, and that's genuine.

And Eddie - I completely agree with you on that :tu:

Davek, thanks for sympathizing with us. We speak the same language here... multitools.. but why are some members arrogant. MTs, SAKs and kinives are so expensive here yet we are trying to cope up with the latest trend.

I think it was humour more than arrogance to be honest Eddie, but I sympathise because we have the same trouble in the UK!

Even with the exchange rate (£ v $) at it's wprst for years, the only viable way to buy nice knives and tools is to be them from the US, and of course, availability is an issue even if you have the cash!

Hey I'd drive an Aston Martin if I could, but my little MGF will do me just fine until then ;)

I used to come here a lot.
