Day 2 for me

Behold, the mighty Rangergrip! It seems strange calling this minimalist, cos it's a big fella - but with two layers it's as minimalist as any Spartan. Indeed more-so as it lacks the Spartan's second blade.
This is the one you need if you're planning on making a salad. A one hand opening blade, non-serrated, is a rare thing on planet Victorinox so this one is to be cherished. Never mind the blunt section of the blade - why oh why?! - this thing is a great slicer.
The other standout feature is the caplifter/ large screwdriver. Since I'm not an engineer on an 1850s steam train I don't need this mammoth screwdriver but as a bottle-top-popper, this is the most satisfying tool ever made. No daft and unnecessary lock to contend with. Deploy this sucker, bust that lid open, snap it shut and the serotonin levels in your head will have quadrupled in seconds.

Doesn't it actually have the Wenger patent pressure lock as well, I mean it's not still the 111mm liner lock for prying and screws, but it is something and doesn't make closing it harder.

Yes, I nearly went back and edited what I'd written to mention that. But for opening a bottle of beer the lock doesn't engage, so there's nothing to fiddle with when snapping the cap-lifter back home.

8765 is a hell of a lot lower than mine, i stopped carrying mine because i got fed up with hoards of people following me around in the faint hope i might pull it out and let them catch a glimpse of this much sought after rare beast, that and the 3AM phone calls from strangers wanting to buy it from me, it is also so rare that i bought it off the shelf from a shop in Italy 5 years after it was released.. my not so limited limited number is 039610. Still a great knife though and i do like numbered knives regardless  :tu:

Day 64:

Victorinox Ambassador in silver Alox with Credit Suisse advertisement on it. Used the be the biggest bank in Switzerland when this knife was made. Ahead of UBS and SBS before they merged into the monster that UBS is now.

"Early" morning pics... Much better hotel than last time :D

Really nice SAKs guys!
Kind of disappointed there's no lake in the background, Syem!

Day 5

SKACS.... Sun kissed alox casts shadows

This is an orange Pioneer -  thanks Schweizer Messer Shop! - which needs no introduction. I'd dearly love an electrician's blade or something more interesting than the can opener, which I never ever use, but the gorgeous orange colour more than compensates for that.

That's a very nice picture. But the lanyard should be orange I think :pok:

Lovely pic for a lovely knife but the lanyard should be black I think. Orange goes well with black :D

As for the SKACS, considering the colour of its background I'm going to assume it means "Some Know A Clear Sky" (when they see it)

Still no lake in the background... There must be one in a nearby valley but I'm just working here so no chance of finding that...

Day 65:

Victorinox Escort (74mm) with Stainless steel scales including a bigla company logo. They're a Swiss furniture-making company. This seems to be a logo from the 60s.

It has lived and been used but has survived the test of time rather beautifully.

Love the lanyard, i believe if you do a tutorial for making it you would be eligible for a badge  :D

Today we have a minimal sak, with Lego, with a pie, with a compass...on the tree, lets say its a Friday five threads in one special deal  :salute:

The Lego is a sak knight, or will be once i paint him and get him a shield, the pie was actually ok considering it was probably made from the scrapings off the abattoir floor, the compass came in handy to prove to an acquaintance that moss does not only grow on the north side of the tree, the knife is a knife and the tree is the tree

Nice Spartan!

I think you might want to put a drop of oil on that bike before the next Tour De France...

I got this green Wenger for next to nothing, but I baby it as if it's a Damascus Pioneer.
Shame about the advertising on it... it's there on both sides so there's no avoiding it.
