Day 27

Used the Rebar to tighten the knobs on my wardrobe doors - but only half-successfully. On one door everything worked, but on the other, after checking the result of the "tightening", the knob stayed in my hand while I pulled on it, the screw chew away its hole. No wonder it was so loose, I don't even know what held it there until now. Anyway, the Rebar did its job.

Funny, the more I look at the pics, the more it looks like I was doing the reapirs in a completely dark space, like some crazy person, while in reality there was still plenty of natural light coming in through the window, but not enough for the camera, and the flash made the surroundings look black.

Day 28

I've had a bit of a dental "torture" today, so not really in top form, haven't been too active after I got back from the doctor, it's just an outside photo of the Rebar for now.

The worst pain can be dental pain!

The Rebar can also be your comfort buddy or it be figid tool by open and closing repetitively.

Day 29

Yesterday, while just playing around with the Rebar, I noticed some tiny burrs on the serrated blade - couldn't have been rolls as I never cut anything tough with that blade -, when I ran down my nail on the bevel, I could clearly feel a bit of a ridge. I took a diamond rod, touched it up very-very gently and it definitely improved the edge. Today I used the serrated blade in the kitchen, it cut like crazy.

And yeah an0nemus,now it's only two days till I join you over there, the Juice is itching to go. :)

Day 30

The final day. Road trip, visiting Mom and other relatives, the Rebar had no tasks, but was on hand just in case... :)

Thanks Nix, I'm significantly better now. Regarding the pepper, it's the most commonly grown and consumed type here, according to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungarian_wax_pepper), it's called Hungarian wax pepper in English. It's usually a fresh, light, mild tasting pepper, but there's a hot(ter) variety as well. We both consume it fresh and cook with it.

My conclusions from the 30 days with the Rebar: I regard it highly as a very versatile tool. Although in the past month I didn't need the saw or the file, I used those before too and was very satisfied, as with all the other implements. I have very few issues: the loose handles, which is a problem of this particular Rebar, not the model in general, I also don't like that although I'm pretty familiar with it now, the handles still pinch my palm when closing from time to time, and yeah, it just badly needs scissors to feel really complete. (I guess I'll mod a pair of scissors into it at some point).

All in all, having it on hand/on me makes me feel ready for any everyday, general tasks, makes me feel prepared. Like the simple, traditional design, it's really a "tool" and a "multi tool".  :multi:

At the same time, I won't lie, this challenge made me miss the Pulse, I loved how sleek it was, I liked that it had scissors - although it was missing the saw, which the Rebar has -, and also, somehow I trust the Rebar's knife blades less than I trusted the more beefy PE blade on the Pulse.

Anyway, it was a nice experience again, now I completed two 30-day challenges in a row, and as already agreed with an0nemus, tomorrow I will join his 30-day Juice challenge, so I'm trying to keep the monumentum going. :) Today's picture reflects on this fact: the Rebar passes the baton to the Juice.

PS to the mod checking: please remove the "attempt" from the title, forgot to add this in the badge request message.

Day 2

We're visiting my Mom for the weekend. A couple of weeks ago she mistakenly bought a set of headband magnifier instead of a headlamp, and I told her that I'll take the magnifier and promised her a proper headlamp in exchange. So, my old headlamp needed new  batteries. At first I thought, oh well, the Rebar will fail at the very first task in this challlenge, and I have to use some other tool's driver, but surprisingly, the Philips driver fit the screws perfectly. Job done.

EDIT: Perhaps I should try and magnetize the driver as I dropped the damn screw three times while trying to take the photo...
I have that headlamp.  :o

I don’t like it. :P

That's why it's my old headlamp and happy to give it away...  :D But for Mom's needs it will be just fine.
Do you have a new one? Can we see it?   :D
Did I mention that I like flashlights?

Yes, I have another one, but it's either in the car or down in the basement with the bikes, so maybe tomorrow, if I won't forget. But don't get too excited, it's still a cheap, non-brand Chinese light only with more modern - XML(?) or Cree(?) or is that the same thing? - LED emitter. I'm really not into flashlights, I just need them to give some light when it's needed. :)

At last I found that damn headlamp!  The Mrs. misplaced it after a bike trip last summer, it was in her spare sports bag all along, not anywhere I'd look. She accidentally bumped into it yesterday. Enjoy!  ;)

No, 18650, so it could go on for quite a while, although I never tested it that way. (I'm a vaper and my e-cig runs on 18650's as well, so I have quite a few of them and two of my other flashlights use those too, compatilibility/interchangability is very practical.)
