I figured, I too, could have a hang out. A place to chat about SAKs or any other SAK related activities. No gimmick, prizes or empty Jaffa cake promises...  :P
just plain ol’SAK fun.

The SwissChamp depicted above is my first one. Wow, what a toolset. It was monogrammed, gifted years ago and never taken out of the fancy leather sheath. Some $40.00 Cdn dollars. I though it would be cool to, of course, abolish the monogram; then sitting at my desk the first scale I found was a red one...the rest is history...a bi-colour CDNCHAMP was born...
You can all thank me later. I just hope to find a tiny stainless steel maple leaf to affix to this beast. Anyone ever done that before?

2 actualy.

One was gifted by my girlfriend when I just started the hobby.
She bought it for me at a yard sale from a TSA-lot-buying-guy.

My second one I bought myself last may because it was offered as "Victorinox Swisschamp" on a local second hand site for €50. It turned out to be a 15min drive from my place. I placed a bid of €45 after seeing it had the full SOS set and got a message that I could go and get it.
Good deal! :tu:

Awesome deal!

Now that I have one, I am thinking of joining the ranks of the “never going back” crowd. What a beast (in a good way)

Here´s my black one, and its predecessor the Champion. That one is about 35 years old.

Nice, Marc!

The Champ has awlways seemed too big (or not big enough) for me. But I do admire them.  :tu:

There's my first and currently only one. I had the scales swapped as the representative at Warsaw Showroom just on Wednesday last week.

They asked for 13 PLN (circa €3.25 for putting on new scales, an engraving (my name) and a new toothpick and the pin my old scales didn't have. Most importantly the representative spoke great English, was extremely respectful and even interested in my stories, even as we didn't end up buying anything else, though I guess at an official store that should be expected.

Today I figured to also give it the well deserved and overdue bath, it's been EDC without exceptions since the day I acquired it, so it gets a bit dirty, so I definitely get "never going back" the SwissChamp just feels like a companion for life.

Nice looking samples, I have the three Champions, a, b, and c... according to wiki. The “b” model is currently awaiting new scales. I’ll post pics when it is repaired.

Looks very nice with the new scales.

These are my Champions a and c. Both were mint when I bought them, very nice examples of swiss craftsmanship.

My “b” sample is also near mint, the tools are. The scales were cracked though, kinda like they were shrunk due to heat exposure! So i’ve Now a set of old solid scales coming from the UK, one of our Mods was very kind to me... :)

Glennfiddich;
What did you do? Drop it? Haha

Boing! Darn springs. Seriously though, taking them apart and re-assembly is a lot of fun. I do a lot of pocket watch strip down, cleaning, oiling, adjustments and timing...SAK are more fun. HEHE
