Handmade Sheath for my Leatherman Rebar
on: March 09, 2018, 05:58:06 PM
About a month ago I bought a Leatherman Rebar in Coyote Brown.  I love the tool, but hate the sheath.  It's the typical mediocre nylon stuff that they ship with most of their stuff these days.  For some reason it has a wider belt loop than the one that came with my stainless Rebar and was sliding up and down my belt because of it.  Also, it just annoys me that they made an awesome tool in a tactical color and then decided to send it out with a black sheath.

So, I grabbed my speedy stitcher and dove into my bag of scrap materials.  Here are the results:

I have to admit that I had to look up Skinth Solutions to find out what you were referring to, but thank you!

I don't know those sheaths exactly, but it is somewhat MOLLE compatable.  If I had thought it out a little better then I would have made the back tabs go three inches down so it would fit on the standard MOLLE pattern.  As it is it fits fine on my gun belt, but only because it has that extra row in between.

I suppose before too long I'll be looking for some MARPAT Coyote Brown webbing to make a sheath that matches.  For the time being though, it's doing great for my everyday carry.
