Hello From South Carolina
on: March 10, 2018, 01:23:41 PM
New guy from coastal NE South Carolina, Conway, to be exact.  I'm very near North Carolina, so, do we have any other Carolina members?  I'm looking to learn, share, and add to my small, but growing, multitool collection.

Thanks for the warm welcome.  I'm looking around and learning the site.  I already see that I have a lot to learn.  I'm afraid this is going to be costly.   :)

I'm afraid this is going to be costly.   :)

Oh... dear sir... you have NO idea.

So, to help with that as much as possible, I'm going to give you some advice. If you're interested in a tool, try your very best to get it used from a pawn shop or ebay, or yardsale. You will find pretty quickly that there are lots of new, shiny multitools with high price tags that for one reason or the other, just don't fit your needs or wants very well, and you can waste a lot of money searching. At least if you get them used, you won't be out as much if you have to resell.

Don't be shy to ask if you are looking for an idea on a tool for specific needs. Lots of folks here with years and years of experience in using Multitools in lots of different situations (everyday carry, hard industrial use, casual, etc.)

And if you are just interested in collecting as a collector, to put them in display cases or the like, there are folks here that do that as well.

Most tools already have dedicated threads to them, so the Search function can be your friend, and don't be afraid of posting in a thread that has been inactive for years. No one here minds thread necro.

So, welcome, and have fun. :salute:
