As far as I know, the markings showing that a Soldier was issued to the Swiss forces was no longer added since somewhere in the 80's IIRC.So a 2008 Soldier issued to the army or sold on the private market will not show any differences.
Hmm, I wonder if that was some sort of special issue? Otherwise, I agree with Mechanickal that the issued (Model 1961) and civilian market (Soldier) knives were indistinguishable. Edit -- I assumed you were looking for a Model 1961, but maybe you have the Model 2008 in mind?If you find one, please post a picture on the main SAK forum. Good luck!Myron
Well that crest means it was issued to a special division of the army. There are multiple armies who issue the Soldier platform nowadays and some include the branch logo or a general armed forces logo.Anyway, the crest means it's not just a general issued Soldier and was meant for that specific branch only. They are way harder too find, so good luck on the hunt!
