any executives?
on: March 12, 2018, 02:09:17 AM
You don't here a lot about the 74mm Executive, these days. I myself haven't carried mine in a long time, and thought it was time to change that. Any other Executive fans out there? Post em if you got em! :tu:

C'mon.....!

The Executive is the SAK I love to hate.

It makes no sense. The Ambassador can do all the same things in a thinner and lighter package. Be real, y'awl.  :pok:

But....then.....the Executive is so darned interesting and lovable.....

I hate it. Who thought this was a good idea?

I'm glad they don't come in translucent scales......... :P

I love that it's a super small knife but big enough too actually work where I find the SD falls into the (I forgot I had it). It got scissors and a nailfile that actually works well! In to of it the knife got another, smaller blade that makes no sense.

All in all the toolset is:
1 where I draw the line how small a knife is allowed to be
2 only someone really powerful in the Victorinox could have had enough pull to get to production, against all sensible engineering.
3 it has a sharp edge on everything but the nailfile.

It is a very ugly duckling

My executive from Mr. Nix himself.
I must say, it is definitely not a knife I would have bought myself, but after getting one it is really growing on me. really obscure model with an interesting tool set in a small size that does pretty much everything you need it to.

Right?  :tu:

Who would ever get one of these on purpose? But then it grows on you and finds a place in yer pocket. It's insidious.

Yeah wow! Me neither. Must have cost a fortune given a normal one as so far out of my league that I might as well go for a personalized space rocket! but I do enjoy it voraciously through others, like now. But boy it's smaller than I thought!

 Sounds like a love hate relationship going on there Nix! :pok: :D It is a neat knife for a change of pace from the usual 91mms I usually carry, but to tell you the truth, I forgot I even had one for a while there

I love these! And even more so their SS cousins the Directors!

Love the format, the fact that they offer so much more than Ambassadors by adding just a thin layer. Love the tiny blade. Love the longer file... Never can get enough of these. They're awesome in Alox and SS but look great in horn too.

Group shot of all of mine.

Great pic Nix, and that tool variation is quite interesting, shows that the line had quite a bit of development.

Green tea, an orange and a SAK, a combo I often use. Don't have an Executive currently though, but it would be an interesting complement to my carry, hitting my usual at home uses.

Oh, and what kind of tea is it, I'd like to diversify my palate, I'm a bit stuck on China Gunpowder now, it's good but variation is the spice of life.

Yes that one with the horn scales looks so good. I'll try to post a group shot of mine later today.

Oh and I feel sorry for that older thread  :o

Yup, I love that Chris Reeve knife, too. Isn't the blade tip sticking out a bit? Is it normal?!

I believe that was Chamomile tea. I love to put a little bit of honey for a touch of sweetness. A good Green tea is hard to beat though!
