Vic warranty?

How good is Victorinox warranty? Can you send your tool to Switzerland for repair or replacement if anything happens? (That is not due to bad usage).

Im familiar with Leathermans warranty and how good it is. How does vics compare?

I'm just curious though, none of mine have broken either, it's just that I'm curious what happens if one of them broke

Yes you can send it home to Switzerland but if you are in the states you can send it to their US warranty as well. I hear the Swiss location is better though. I personally only have had to deal with Victorinox’s warranty service once. It was in the US and I had a terrible experience.

Vic replaces and repairs ANY of their tools that you might send in.
They only charge you with postage.

I've had a Dutch Army Knife of which the large blade was broken and the awl too.
The can opener was twisted.
Clearly an abused tool.

It was away for 2 months (I send it to Vic through a local retailer which takes longer since it has to go from there to the main office in our country, back to Vic and vice versa)

But came back as good as new with only €4 costs for postage...

Sent in a broken tool to the US warranty.  Paid postage only and while it took a bit of time ( I think 1-2 months ) with no communication I was sent a brand new tool.  I'd say the warranty is as good as anyones.

I have send many VIC's through a local retailer, only pay the postage, and Ii'm very happy with their service. The knives were always like new.
The VIC warranty is the BEST  :climber:

Good to hear, that means that IF something happens, I should be able to send it in via the Swedish national distributor without any problems :)

Indeed.
Shouldn't be a problem at all.

You just need to be patient.

I have a 98 Swisstool that I need to send in.

I already bought a replacement which I carry everyday. Does anyone know if Victorinox might be able to send me a Spirit back instead if I ask?
