I vaguely remember the old school times with VHS, no smartphones, laptops were clunky, etc.

Theres a difference between the old one that with the model trains produced 1984-2008 and the new CGI one that your kids were probably watching.  :)

I was talking about the model trains version (because I kinda enjoyed them too, I loved the "diorama" part of it), they lost me and my boys when they switched to the CGI smurf  ;).
Have you seen the Thomas and the Magic Railroad movie? Mix of models and live action.

Can't say that I have ... Maybe I can watch it with my daughter (she's almost two), but my boys will give me that "he's gone completely mad" look when I try that stuff on them ..
