Will Leatherman warranty a POST outside of 25 years?

I just came across one my father bought at some point, but it has a broken blade. It's pre-1992 because it doesn't have a date code.

Has anyone had any luck sending one in past 25 years?

They will warranty it :cheers: but they may exchange it instead of fix it :ahhh Does it have screws or is it riveted together :think: If it has rivets then they can't take it apart to fix it so they would opt to replace unless the paperwork you have filled out has sentimental marked :tu: Let us know what you decide :cheers:

I think a replacement would be fine. I assume he bought it, broke the blade, and never thought about it again. I'll send it out soon. Thanks for the response.

If it were me I would mark it sentimental and ask for it to be fixed :cheers: With the release of the new Heritage PST, I would think that they have new spare parts to fix the PST. For many this is still an almost bulletproof design and several members here also prefer the old school LM to the newer ones :tu:

Learherman’s 25 years warranty is life time warranty in reality, said so by Tim L.

They replaced it, no questions asked, with a Rebar. I don't regret it.

I've got a couple PST's, a couple PSTII's, a Rebar and some others. I think the old school ones are better because of their simplicity of design. All function, then form. Personally, I would have chosen to have the PST fixed.

Having said that... The Rebar is a little more complicated than the PST, but except for the recent special editions mentioned above, it really is the closest new Leatherman to the original design and spirit of the original.

Back in September I purchased my new Rebar, and I've had it on my belt in its leather sheath near every day since. It replaced my Surge, which replaced my PSTII.

Leatherman Rebar = Great. Friggin. Tool.
