Leatherman 10th Anniversary PST
on: March 19, 2018, 09:29:57 AM
I have a Leatherman 10th Anniversary PST for sale.

Some info:

It's number 078-200.

My dad got it for me a while back from a goodwill auction in Portland. The tool is in perfect shape (obviously, it hasn't been taken out of the plaque). The plexiglass window has a couple of small scratches. The wood is walnut and looks great. Unfortunately, I do not have the CoA anymore.

I'm selling it becasue it would be more appreciated in a collector's hands. Although it looks great sitting on my mantle, I'd rather have the money to use on an upcomming trip with my dad. I've attached a picture I already had on my computer. I'll take some more (better pics) tomorrow and update the post.

I know the price on these varies greatly since they don't come around often. I do know the ballpark figures, so I won't straight give it away. I've seen listings from $1300 to around $2800, so I'm looking to get something in that range. Realistically, I expect it will be the lower end of that range, but I suppose it depends on who's looking for one! I intend to list it on ebay, but I want to give the folks here first shot before I do.

I'm happy to answer any questions. I'm also willing to voice or video chat if you'd like more proof or info.

Thanks!
Alex

I think would be better list it on eBay.
First, the real price will be determined.
Second, here no one will buy something for few thousand dollars from today registered new user.

UPD
I'm ready to buy 10th Anniversary PST for 1000-1100 USD.

Hi and welcome azurics  :salute:

Thanks for introducing yourself on the forum  That's a nice piece you have for sale!

Please don't be put off if no one bites yet - it will only be because you're  recently registered. As you've lurked for some time you'll know that we're a friendly bunch and it's good that you've offered the option of a video chat etc so potential buyers can 'see the goods'.

All the best with the sale and I hope you stick around either way.  :tu:

I am not quite sure if MT collecting is prestigious enough to reach the $500-$1k for one MT realm. Well, at least not in my opinion.

So, here are some more pictures, as promised!

I've been asked to be more forward about a price. I was hesitant because I have little idea what it's really worth.
Straightforward- If I end up putting it on ebay, I'd make the reserve $1000. So, I'll ask $1800. If you guys have any advice on this, I'd love to hear it!

The plexiglass is slightly warped, as shown in the last picture.

Extra info:
I called my dad this morning to ask what he paid for it (never did, as it was a gift). He said a few hundred, but doesn't really remember. It's funny that the users here know more about the sale than I do- neat to have that goodwill link!

If you guys would like me to make a video or anything to see it better, I'd be happy to. Or if there's any more specific picutures you want, I can do that too.

I understand the hesitation since I've only recently registered on the forum. Like I said, I intend to list it on ebay. But I know the users here are a really nice lot of people, so I thought it would be good to post here before listing. I can get an idea of a realistic price and collecters can have the first shot at it!

The listings at $1300 on ebay:
Were the boxes mint?
was the CoA still there?

Those are deal makers or breakers for the die hard collectors...

And if the answer is yes both times, your price might be a little steep.

In the complete set still there should be a certificate of authenticity. I bought my first 10th anniversary PST without a certificate (but with interesting history) for $ 2,600(+shipping, taxes, etc), but at that time they did not appear on the market for several years. The second one I bought already cheaper (about $ 1000) with a certificate. After that there were two or three Anniversary PST on sale.

I appreciate the info. I've kept an eye out for a while but haven't seen any others.

I had the CoA with this one but it was stolen out of my Jeep. Some thief sliced right through my soft top :-[ Thankfully, I didn't have the actual tool in the car. I'm pretty sure I have a picture of myself where you can see it in the back, for what it's worth (nothing, haha).
