It finally happened!

I carry a Olight i3e, aaa on my keychain. I was eating lunch and on the way back to the car I pulled out my keys to find my Olight had I screwed itself and the head of the light as well as the battery where in the bottom of my pocket. This happening has crossed my mind on the aaa keychain lights that require you to unscrew the light to turn it off instead of some lights where you tighten the head all the way to turn it off. I honestly never worried about it as I have been carrying aaa’s like this for a very long time and never once had this happen. Needless to say I’m a little paranoid now!

Looking at pictures of its threads, I can see how it might happen.  :ahhh
Maybe it will be less likely to happen if you apply some thick lube?
I'm glad you didn't lose the head.  :tu:
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Happened with my i3s shortly after I got it, was in the back pocket which caught the battery and head.
After it happened a couple more times I changed how much I turned it off with from a half turn to a quarter turn.
Hasn't happened since.

Happened to my Eagletac D25AAA recently too.  They use a very thin O ring to increase the friction between the head and body to prevent it unscrewing, but I think one of my kids took the light apart and lost the O ring.  Fortunately, you get some spares with the light. :tu:

I keep mine clipped in my left front pocket and this has happened a time or two to me as well :ahhh I would rather it come apart in my pocket than to come out of my pocket though  I keep my keys in the same pocket and normally the light stays in there fine but I have successfully lost it out of my pocket on at least 3 or 4 occasions where I lost it  Thankfully it has been found by co-workers that knew I carried it and we have a very trusyworthy bunch of people working with us :salute: I did however lose my silver one and one that Zoid gifted me, never found them  Don't know if I lost them in this manner or not or I lost them at home somwhere  Either way they were never found :bnghd:

As long as you didn't lose the light or let the smoke out somewhere it seems like a learning experience and a Win to me?

The way some companies work they would recommend you upgrade to better pockets to resolve the issue

Sorry, I’m a bit frustrated with corporate America.
