zrxoa1,

I've EDC'd a standard 112. Great little carry knife, lots of fun to use. I imagine the 'lite' model would be even easier to tote.

Would you say it’s as capable as the 110, just not as big and heavy?

Hmmmmm.....

I'd say it's very capable. But it is a shorter knife (3"). And the handle is shorter too. So.....it's a different folder to be sure. I think it is more than capable for most daily EDC tasks. But I also find that that a 3.5" to 4.5" knife (blade) is really handy at times.

I think that's why I still favor the 110, it's just the thing for some bigger tasks.

Honestly, I find the 112 more 'fun' because of it's size, but for going off adventuring, the 110 gets the call. That may just be me. I remember reading an article in a magazine about 10 years ago where the author thought the 112 was superior to the 110. That really intrigued me. I think weight and size were the main factors in his assessment, but he found the knife just as capable (for his uses) and thought it was sturdier.

I think you have to try a 112 for yourself.....he he he.... :pok:

Now to decide if a regular 112 or the Lite version. I’m leaning toward the Lite due to the lanyard hole. I think I could adapt a pocket clip to fit that hole!

Shoot!  Around here they are both running about $50 on EBay!  I truly doubt I’d carry either if I am honest with myself.

I usually have either my Wave or my SAK in my pocket. Carrying a single blade doesn’t really make sense for me. My “wants” sometime override my true needs.

Just like the mighty 110. I thought I needed one, but I rarely carry it.

I made this ridiculous pocket caddy, it works really well with the 110 for pocket carry:

It was really simple to make, but if you don't have the time or inclination, I can knock one together for you (I think I still owe Mechanickal one. ). If you were to use one for the 112, I'd make it a bit smaller so the 'pommel' is easier to grasp.   :tu:

Do any of you with the 110 LT also happen to own (or handled...) the 112 LT (112 Bucklite)?

Just curious about the 112. Seems like a good knife but easier to EDC than the 110...

I have an early version Bucklite and it is comfortable in the hand.

The blade is big enough for most daily chores.

Thank you for the offer, Nix, but I’ve tried the pocket caddy route with my SAKs and I just don’t like them either.

I prefer my knife or tool clipped to my pocket. I’m just too stubborn to change!  Haha!!

My apologies, Sir! I had forgotten you commented in the thread. It is definitely worth the trouble! I don't regret having modded mine. It will be in the carry-option box from now on. Just make sure it isn't a vintage or really valuable 110, as I imagine that would kill the resale value (unless someone who was buying appreciated the modifications).
I wish I had measured depth I drill into the brass, but that shouldn't be too hard to figure out. If you carry tip-up, it isn't very important to drill perfect depth.
Anyway, worth the effort!

I bought my 110 from Walmart late last year. So no sentimental or vintage worth.
