Challenge +8:

Forgot I had the Buck 110 on my belt. Just slipped my pants on and went about the day. 'Oh, I still have my 110 on.....'  :D

After you carry a 110 long enough you really don't notice the weight.

I agree Vicman.  It's so slender it doesn't get in the way at all.

I'm not a big fan of the tree but if you pickup the leaves and tie them in a bundle they are great for starting fires with.

My friction sheath received some smurfloads of leather grease on the inside these last few days.
After that I removed the 110 and placed it back in quite some times.
Wiped off the 110 and put the grease back in.

It's all absorbed by the leather now and the 110 fits better now.

Ready for belt carry! :ahhh

Belt sheath looks great, I like them and the horizontal style too.  I used a fancy magazine belt pouch, when I was in an area that appreciated knives .... maybe someday again

Thanks. I'm certainly no master leather worker. But these sheaths are kinda fun to make.

El P, question for you: how is your friction sheath working out? did you need to oil it up also to get it to be looser? I try to make these tight so they retain the knives, but I do worry that I make them too snug. Thanks.

Ooops.....I guess that's me done with the challenge........ ;)

Just decided to carry the PM2 today. No real reason. PM2 is a nice knife. Not as comfortable in the hand as a Buck 110 (for me), but a great little utility knife.   :tu:

they are miles away from what I could ever craft

don't take points off your own scoreboard Nix, you did a wonderful thing with those sheaths.  :salute:
Mine does not need oil and the 110 fits like a glove, it can even be carried downwards without fear of losing the knife

I'll try and grab some pics soon  ;) but these following days I'm going to visit the hospital every day at least once  :P so I ought to be careful with my carry and bringing knives in and I haven't got much time for pics  :ahhh

Interesting......

I top-coated your Sheath with Tan-Kote, a product designed to seal and make the sheath 'water-resistant'. This seemed like a good idea to prevent water (moisture) from softening the sheath, and then the sheath losing it's shape and formed shape to the knife.

It might be that the oils you used to soften the sheath had some impact on the nature of the Tan-Kote and made it sticky.

See what happens when it dries.

If this continues to be a problem, let me know. I'll make you a new sheath without using the Tan-Kote.  Live and learn.  :tu:

I only greased the inside, not the outside ;)

Last evening I decided to grease the outside too now.
Nothing to lose, right?

It has been absorbed by the leather and the stickyness is gone too...

Round 2 of greasing! :ahhh

Last day of cutting loops at airport.
This just pulled in, took on fuel, baggage, and very likely passengers.

LT is inside truck but snuck out of cooler posing with this back drop.
