Good idea, Barry.

I think zrxoa1 still owes us a challenge anyway.  :pok:

Ummm, guilty as charged!  Haha

Hi guys! Since I wore jeans today I decided to carry my 110 inside a caddy. I'm surprised by how easy it is to carry. Now I want to be able to open the 110 with just one hand.

My question is which is more traditional looking: a thumb bar or a thumb stud? which is easier to use?

My 110

I can open a standard 110 with one hand by pinching the blade between thumb and forefinger and then using the other fingers to swing the handle open. It's not very quick, but it works if I have something else in my other hand.

Maybe one of the other guys can chime in with more 'tactical' options like studs and clips.   :tu:

Unfortunately I'm cursed with short, stubby fingers Nix. I just tried your method and almost got my ring finger "decapitated"  :dwts:

I have seen thumb studs made by 3rd party for the 100 blade, but if fingers are short will likely not be a solution either.

I have opened my 110 OH by grasping the blade as NIX describe, and then catch the bolster on my pant seam to open.

If you work some light oil and break in the pivot it will work smoothly.     Just be careful, you do not want to shorten your fingers any more than necessary

Just remember the 110 is not a tactical designed folder.

Congratulations on your 110 my friend.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Nah, my fingers arent that short enough that a thumb assist gadget wont help. I think ill get a bar as its more aesthetically pleasing

Thanks, VICMAN! Took the pics while waiting for wife to finish shopping. I then posted these in our local EDC group over at Facebook.

Why do I feel like a serial killer when I hold a 110?

I wish I had one. I was just suggesting it to the guy as an alternative for a one hand opening 110

I like your version better!!  I have almost bit the bullet a few times but the lack of a pocket clip always stops me.

Great pics!  Autos are pretty much restricted here in the States as well.  It's a shame, because there's a lot to be said for them.

Great!

Sadly, I can't get one myself.
My 110 wouldn't fit the friction sheath any more...
