I was going to say a very early Spartan/officers knife that someone had filled the shield with a brass type solder but happy to go with Pradel as suggested as the shield just doesn't look right, it would narrow it down if we knew what was stamped on the tang  :tu:

If Pradel then a Savoie emblem rather than Swiss?

Pradel in Thiers in Savoie and the emblems of Savoie and Switzerland are both white crosses on red backgrounds.
