Vic XAVT with combination wrench?

Continuing on the tradition of the XAVT being a collector’s item with all tools ever produced, and since Victorinox now owns the rights to Wenger tools, Yes, the universal wrench is included in the XAVT...

Hmmm... ok... to answer my own question after actually checking vic's official page...  The XAVT does contain the universal wrench, but
what other Vics contain this tool??? (EVO's don't count... EVO's are an abomination upon Uggan... original Wengers are cool though...)

You beat me to answering my own post but why don't Victorinox also revive the old classic tools like telescopic pointer, ski wax scraper, etc to include in the XAVT as well? Now THAT is a XAVT i would carry!

Beats me... my guess probably because od production logistics... reviving old tools would mean reviving old machinery... and may need to be updated to current standards... :lol:

And no, apart from the Delemont series, only the XAVT has the universal wrench...

My guess would be they include it because they don't have the old style grey magnifier any more.

It does mean that they already make the parts to put the wrench in the 91mm line if they want to.  Different size hole for 91mm took compared to 85mm, innit?  Is it a special backspring too?

The xavt has a different combo wrench than the wenger/delemont version of it, different sizes and I believe a slightly different shape.  When the catalog first came out I asked an Elsener in the Facebook group about it. The VSACs model uses the wenger wrench.

Now here's the core of my question really... so it's NOT a Wenger wrench but a Vic wrench special made for just the XAVT? A wrench that "easily" can be used on any modded 91mm? Hmmm... the XAVT is an expensive donor for parts... that's just cruel by Vic teasing us like that...

Lol at the UK meet last year I brought my XAVT with me and I watched Luke very carefully and may have threatened to set fire to him if he even thought of using it as a donor

This is why Vic should have their own custom shop, or at least go the SOG route and sell us the individual tools/layers that we want. I would like the layer with the hawkbill and sheepsfoot blade in a smaller, affordable model.

Just buy a SwissChamp XLT. Not as expensive as an XAVT.  :D :D :D

My XLT is a user! Way too useful to be a shelf queen. Would be even more useful if they put the wrench on the XLT in place of the redundant inline Phillips.

The XLT is an excellent EDC. Have it since last fall. Never regretted buying it.  :climber: :climber: :climber:
