Come on gents, you've all got to home by now (except perhaps H, who might still be peddling).  Lets see some pics.  :pok:

What an excellent weekend! Just what the doctor ordered.

Well, actually the doctor ordered avoiding alcohol, and that wasn't quite achieved, but doctors don't seem to understand the beneficial health effects of a fireside drink and laughter with some truly excellent friends.

Weather was a mixed affair. There was the obligatory Tomsoon (a minor monsoon which arrives half an hour before Cupboard - really good to see him again - and departs an hour after he's gone), but there were some clear skies and pleasant sunshine too. As mentioned above there were some very sudden, very short lived, and very strong gusts of wind (which occurred before the group's cooking session of biryani and edible napalm, so I can't be blamed for that) which brought down a few branches on a couple of nearby trees. It was nothing as substantial or disruptive as last year's branch fall though, and our merry band of log botherers soon cleared the area, and converted it to fuel.

Modding nature with modded tools. :D

Once again, I saw the arrival of the dawn after stopping up all night drinking and talking with a Welshman who has opted to not sound Welsh, only for them to bugger off and leave me guarding the fire as soon as the sun started to come up (so Saturday night I went to bed at noon on Sunday - but was back sat round the fire for afternoon tea). It was a different Welshman who has opted to not sound Welsh than the usual one, but otherwise a very familiar pattern of behaviour. Hoardes of zombie squirrels were deterred, and the fire was roaring and kettle was full when the rest of the gang arose from their slumber - although one did have to be revived by bacon. Sparky bloke was actually beaten to the the dawn fire duties TWICE this year, by two different members on two different days.  :ahhh

My vision and balance was somewhat squiffy as is usual these days, so no piccies from me, I'm afraid. I did manage a little cunning ropework and pole notching on the lamppost creation projects, and contribute a little on the catering side, so I wasn't a total passenger (though that reminds me to thank Kev again for getting me safely down there and back, keeping us sustained with the BBQ, and providing the clubhouse to keep us protected from the Tomsoon). I did actually take a few projects with me to attempt, but mostly spent the weekend just relaxing and chatting, exchanging wit and wisdom, and having a jolly good catch up.

As always, I came away with a few extra goodies, (a UK legal slippie, scale and craft materials, MTO goodies, a few edibles, a hole making egg whisk, and a bench mounted nipple clamp) and managed to leave a few with others too. Our good friend TD managed to inadvertently leave without all of his belongings again. I think he's gradually working up to somehow managing to leave without remembering to take his car.... although he's still not quite up to leaving furniture yet, so Mags still holds the record on that I reckon.

Really great to see everyone again, and also great to meet Huntsman (what a nice chap), our first non-UK resident attendee. North European members should take note, that turning up from outside the British Isles is indeed achievable, and it is actually possible to do more than just talk about maybes.  :pok: It was a shame that not all could attend, or stay the full duration, but the UK Meet remained a great success as always.

Thanks for another truly excellent weekend everyone, and also for looking after me in my more defective moments.  :salute:

Are you home yet H  ???

Hey

Wanted to say a big thank you to all the lads for looking after me so well this weekend
I turned up with pretty much nothing ....
I was provided with a bed and bedding and roof for the night - I was fed and watered most excellently (lots of tea and some stronger stuff) - And of course enjoyed your wonderful company.
Not only that there were lots of extremely interesting toys to play with - and the axe throwing was great fun -
And I gotta say I was pretty successful at it - with almost a 100% sticking in rate .......  As long as I hit the targets .... quite a few went sailing over the top
- Now I know why we go to an otherwise empty camping location !!!  :o
But there's more ....... The lads all turned up with various presents for me, which was totally unexpected and extremely generous of you - Thank you all

It was a real privilege and a bit of luck to be able to join the meet  - And to meet up with my digital friends in the flesh 10,000 miles from home
- Not sure I'll make next year's meet - But can recommend anyone to go

Long Live MTo    :tu:    :D

Yes, made it back at 8 pm.  7 1/2 hours of riding into a 15-20 mph headwind on little sleep, too much whisky and bike with too much smurf strapped to it. :ahhh

Managed to shower, unpack and eat before collapsing into bed at 9.30.  At work now...
