It's in the Wiki

http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Wenger+Alinghi+181+-+SUI-1

Our member Tosh has nearly all the Rangers - And I don't think this is one of his missing ones !!

The dealer cupwenger has lots of youtube videos on the Wengers - You could try that

Thanks! The red one is the one I’m looking for. It’s in my opinion the rarest one...

Personally I'd prefer the black/grey one! Every Tom, Dick & Harry has a red Wenger (Well, nearly!)

Sorry I'm late to the party..

The Red Alinghi? You mean the rarest of all Rangers, the one that was limited to just 12 pieces and given to the Alinghi Team....

My God I don't have it, but I would sell my soul to have it.
I only have the 3 normal Alinghi Rangers plus the 85mm souvenir version.

I gave up looking for that rare Red Alinghi, A kings ransom I would happily pay to have it.

As for the Rangers that were in Wenger catalogues, notably the 130mm models I have all but 2 or 3 of them.

Wengers now command too high a price for me....but I'll make an exception for that elusive Alinghi
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

May I ask what the reasoning was for the strap cutter being fixed on the butt end of the knife instead of being a folding tool?  Ease of access?

It was designed to free a crewmember from the catamaran's net if it would capsize.

You don't want to start a two hand fiddle if you're stuck under water... :dwts:

Really - ??? - That's amazing! - Congratulations and what a souvenir
We're lucky to have you, and this beautiful knife in MTo

Hey I have a question too - That strap cutter has a plastic sheathy thing around it
- Is that a cover that is removed? - Or just a protector that stays in place when you use it?
It looks like the latter, but if so, it looks like it covers the blade

That cover is a soft material that get's damaged when the rescue blade is used.
Somewhat of a hard silicone from what I understand.

Only found this info online, don't take my word for it.

A big thanks for posting pictures Ulli
Like everyone else here, prior to seeing yours we had only seen the stock pictures taken off the web.
With regards to the strap cutter....I did read it came encased in soft silicon designed to protect the blade, but yet designed to fall off the first time it's put to use.

An amazing experience I imagine sailing with team Alinghi.

Respect to you  :tu:

So, this is not a 130mm, right? More like a 170mm?  :D
