First multi was the LM Rebar then I went spiraling down the rabbit hole since  :ahhh

First folding knife was a knockoff Swiss army knife my dad gave me for Christmaswhen I was 12. Didn't carry it because it was more of a momento to me

First OH knife was a buck 290 spring assisted knife

This has been more than 35 years ago so my memory is a little vague.I obtained a Deluxe Tinker,Monarch,Nomad and then a Swiss Champ.I bought these between 1983 and 1985.

When I traveled to Colorado to hunt for Elk and Mule deer with the brother of a friend who owned a ranch I saw the first Leatherman tool. When I arrived home I bought a Leatherman Original Tool. This was in 1986.

It's been downhill since that time.LOL.

Well said There might be some truth here as well. Have to say not much in new models would want upon first models.

My first knife was my cub scout knife . Got it from the Army Navy in the early 80s.  Dad gave me a Camilius knife that had a handy spike to undo knots. As i got into Scouts deeper i bought a Bucklite to carry while backpacking.

My first multi i bought was my Gerber 600 with bit kit. It got a little rusty from fishing . Still going strong.

My first SAK was given to me by grandma for Christmas early 80's . Believe it was a Tinkerer. I have several from that time so I'm not sure which one was THE original.

I had a Vic Explorer when I was in the Boy Scouts.

I bought my OG Wave in 2001 after reading about a Green Beret using his Leatherman Tool to amputate a guy's leg in Afghanistan.

As best as I can remember, my first SAK was a Classic, and yes I still have it, and use it every couple of days.

My first multitool was something nameless I bought for a gold coin at a bootsale. It was remarkably good value in the long run, and I'm honestly not sure (given the price difference) if I've gotten even close to the same value for money out of any Leatherman  ::) (Possible exception being the old LM Blast, which cost-per-use was probably my best ever LM purchase. Everything else being frivolous emotional expenditure....)

I found the sheath I made when I was 12 or 13. Boy Scouts leatherwork merit badge for the win!

Yeah, the tooling is not particularly great workmanship. Curves are a little jagged and whatnot. But it's been mine for ages and ages, and i'm so glad I found it.

In 1989, I was in my first year of law school and received an "A" in contracts.  So I bought for myself a Leatherman Mini-tool.  I still have it.  Its not my favorite MT, but its what got me started down path to righteousness.

I don't have a pic of my original stainless Mini-tool, but it looks like this - only different.
