Help identifying old knife

Hi I found this at our family farm in Saskatchewan. Can anyone tell me about it and maybe a price. Thanks

1941 British Navy Knife, by Richards of Sheffield. If this knife could talk, I'm sure it would definitely have a lot of stories to tell, having been issued during the Second World War.

This... however, I think it's probably British Army rather than Navy issue - the army used marlin spikes too. Here's my rather tatty one...



Value - monetary wise I don't think they're worth a great deal, they're not uncommon, at least not here in the UK, but as an heirloom and piece of history I think they're something to be treasured.

It's not of actionable value, I fear. These can be had for around 20 dollars, however it is a terrific heirloom and well worth keeping.  It is most likely British Army rather than Navy as most Navy knives during the 1940's & 50's had a grey handle (but not exclusively though).

It is indeed a  BAK not Navy as it has a can opener.  Nice heirloom !   I have my uncles British Navy knife .
