Anyone recognize this VSAK inlay?
on: April 19, 2018, 03:05:33 AM

Just wondering if anyone has seen this inlay before?  I've searched around and can't find any info on it.

Thanks,

Myron

I don't recognize it.

I took your pic, used GIMP to make a good high-contrast image from the logo, and did a reverse image search with it. Unfortunately that came up with nothing.

I tried some regular image searches as well, but 'house and tree logo' and similar search terms gets a TON of results, none of which matched as far as I looked.

Sorry.

What model knife is it? Could be a proprietary hot imprint of a logo by a company or organization for swag handouts, employee purchase, special event(s), etc. Companies do this not only with Classics but Spartan, Sportsman, Tinker and Small Tinker.

 :hatsoff:

It's very similar to the Scottish Youth Hostel Association logo (and I think the old logo for YHA England and Wales) so a google search for youth hostel logo brought it up quickly.

Damm H beat me to it

I am pretty sure many European YHAs have a similar logo too

I love all those inlaid SAKs and new ones keep popping up

Wow, you guys are amazing!  Thanks very much.

I’m not totally sure of the model, but I think it’s a Spartan.

Thanks again!

If it has two layers, two blades, two openers , an awl, a corkscrew and a key ring it will be.

Else check SAKWiki !  :tu:

+1

The most likely suspect. (If it's 84mm, a Sportsman; would have nail file, but much less likely a Tourist.)

Huh, I've seen two of these and always thought it had something do to with the Forestry Service.  Youth Hostel, that is interesting.

Thanks Huntsman!  I don't actually have the knife in my possession, but it's on its way to me now.  It was ambiguously listed on eBay as a lot with some other non-SAK stuff. I'm thinking it might be a Recruit, but I will verify when it arrives!  :)

I just loved the little inlaid logo.  I'll post some more pics of it when it arrives.  Thanks to all for the help in ID'ing it!

Myron
