Alox FieldHunter?
on: April 20, 2018, 10:40:45 PM
Question for you SAK gurus:

Is there an Alox version of the Fieldmaster/Huntsman?

I'm thinking of: Blade, Awl, Scissors, Saw, Openers.

Am I forgetting something? If not, why hasn't this model been developed?

I think you're talking about the mythical Farmer X.  That's been wished for on this forum since the announcement of the Pioneer X.
And I can't give you any reason that it doesn't exist yet.

Yes! The Farmer X.

An idea so obvious it should have been done by both Wenger and Victorinox.

I think that's my grail SAK.........

I really don't know why they can't stamp out alox scales the same shape as the 91 mm cellidors. Then sell a pin kit.

I'd love an alox Explorer complete with backspring tools.

Would an Alox 'Farmer X' or Explorer be less sturdy than a Pioneer?

The Farmer X that we've talked about here on MTO is a 93mm alox with the saw of a Farmer and the scissors of a Pioneer X.

Seems to me that there are enough scale variants that Vic could make 91mm alox scales for the popular models.  I'd sure buy an alox Super Tinker the first day they became available.
