on: April 25, 2018, 12:18:27 PM
Hello there,

I havenno problem dating my old SideClip. But I can't date my Fuse. Is the manufacturing month/hear hidden under the zytel scales?... If not, how to date a Fuse/Blast ?... Thanks !

They should have been stamped also. Its closer to the pliers and should be seen quite easily.. It's not hidden under the zytel..

Nothing hidden under Zytel, in fact the Zytel it's only applied on the sides of the handle.

I can say that on my Blast, the stamping was light on one side, and very light on the other.

Try using a low powered flashlight at an angle. That should allow you to see it.

Would you believe me if I tell you there's no date code stamped inside my Fuse?... It has the early type of locks, if that helps...

As already been said the date code stamps can be very light and sometimes hard to see :salute: If the flashlight isn't working take it out on a sunny day and open it up and try a few different angles to see if that helps :tu: Also a magnifying glass

Also welcome to :MTO:

Thank you Folks ! That was a tricky one. It wasn't light... it was barely visible all :-D (0307 and 0207). Had to play with various angle of light to decrypt numbers others than 0...

Also thabk you Poncho for the welcome

Welcome, and well done!

This is even trickier for those tools that are black instead of stainless. I had to take a Q-tip to one of mine before I could see that there were numbers, let alone read them!  :D
