Which SAK(s) do you consider to be the centerpiece of your collection?

Like the title says, which SAK (or SAKs, let's maximize it at three) do you consider to be the centerpiece(s) of your collection, and why?

I'll start.

First of all the 2016 Damast Pioneer X. I consider this to be the centerpiece of the collection because the Damascus blade is just soooo mesmerizing  :P

Second i'll nominate my red alox Voyageur. This has been my "holy grail" piece for years. Now that I have found one, i'll need to think of a new holy grail

Third i'll nominate the Swiss shArK. Just because it's so cool, and because it's probably one of the rarest SAKs you can get (52 pieces made).

Nice choices G-Fiddy  :salute:

My  three are;

Greenwood - Woodsman mod with in-line awl and plus scales
Das Volks Messer - Camper with E-blade, metal file, in-line awl, small sd and plus scales
Wenger SI - The epitome of a SAK for me - beautiful design and rock solid.

First and foremost is the long discontinued five layer Woodsman (b):

Next would be the discontinued Champion. Contains the file with hack saw, but the fish scaler wouldn't be used (for me it only adds thickness and weight).

Last would be the also discontinued Craftsman. Doesn't have the in-line Phillips and magnifier. Has file with hacksaw and pliers. I've used the pliers, but not very often as when my need for pliers arises, it's usually for bigger ones than these.

After some contemplating, I think the 2010 LE Pioneer

The 1971 Red Soldier is a close call. As is the #248 from Andre Perret.

..........

Why nominate it as a centre piece if it has something you don't like    ???
Or is it just the age / discontinued characteristics qualify it
For me to be a centre piece I would love every inch of it !!

PS. Love the Voyager and the ShArk  - Co-incidentally I have just been looking at the shark in the Wiki !!

Good topic  :tu:

Wenger is undoubtedly the Giant, followed by the Heritage and probably the "Bye Bye Wenger" Ltd Edition

Victorinox is XXLT, XAVT & Swiss Bit SAK
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

This is a great topic!  The centerpieces of my collection aren't necessarily the ones that see the most carry time but I love them!  From the top, my Master Craftsman, Wenger S18 Patagonia, and Vic Woodsman.  All are discontinued, but all are also terrific carries!

For me it's about the tools and how they meet my needs.

Swisschamp.  One of the most complete multitools on the market. Most of the problems the world throws at me that require a tool can be solved my Swisschamp.

08 Soldier.  For starter's the scales are great for wet or gloved hands. I've used the cap lifter to pry and drive pins. It's the most used tool on this SAK.
The serrated blade is near perfect for my urban needs. I can get the serrations sharp enough to rival Luke Skywalker's lightsaber for sharpness

Pocket tool chest.  The tools I want and need for most of my multitool needs. This is the SAK that gets the most day to day use. It's the perfect tool set for a keychain size with no silly frivolous tool's like the 58mm or 75mm line.

Like most of you I have allot of SAK's but if I sold them all but these three I would fine.
