Tough call...

So I just looked at the SAKs that got photographed the most.

This one is my fav for sure.
NIB horn scaled 84mm Golfer, long nail file, alu tipped tweezers

For me it's about the tools and how they meet my needs.

Swisschamp.  One of the most complete multitools on the market. Most of the problems the world throws at me that require a tool can be solved my Swisschamp.

08 Soldier.  For starter's the scales are great for wet or gloved hands. I've used the cap lifter to pry and drive pins. It's the most used tool on this SAK.
The serrated blade is near perfect for my urban needs. I can get the serrations sharp enough to rival Luke Skywalker's lightsaber for sharpness

Pocket tool chest.  The tools I want and need for most of my multitool needs. This is the SAK that gets the most day to day use. It's the perfect tool set for a keychain size with no silly frivolous tool's like the 58mm or 75mm line.

Like most of you I have allot of SAK's but if I sold them all but these three I would fine.

Very practical choices! :tu:

My centerpiece is definitely El birth year Victorinox Alox Soldier.

For me it's my Mountaineer. Wife gave it to me for Christmas about 20 years ago.

I'm seriously wondering how you got your hands on a SwishArK though...

I bought it  :D

No seriously, I simply bought it from a Victorinox dealer who had one in stock. It was the last one they had. Guess I was just lucky

I don't know it it was their only one or their last one, but I do know they were out of stock after I bought mine.

So many beautiful SAKs, here are my contributions.
This would have been my centerpiece knife as it was my first Victorinox, a Camper.   I cherished it each day, but ultimately it fell out of my pocket at a movie theater.

I do consider this 84mm 246ka Small Huntsman as my current centerpiece, top left in photo.

I consider this a centerpiece knife of mine as it is not very common.  A 236fa Angler Plus.

Since you limited it to three, I picked those above, but any of these could have been contenders and I don't want them to feel slighted:

Sold off most of my “cool” stuff but still have a few I cherish.

1 - Electrician Duo, xx/50 limited.

2 - Timekeeper

3 - Cybertool 41

 :ahhh :worthless:

Wish I could. I do not have a computer anymore and can not for the life of me find out how to link pics here from Flickr from my phone. Even if I could I just deleted my Flickr account yesterday because they were bought out and I do not want my account merged.  :(

Any 91mm with the grey mag lense and long in-line Phillips...
Clip point SAKs
Grooved cork screw
Slotted back side Phillips (can opener)
Solid scales... (not CNCed out)
Any SAK with a bale in lieu of key Rings or none at all.
Any SAKs with the Small “V” in VIC, and the crossbow and Cross tang stamps...

I consider one of the center pieces of any SAK collection should be the unique 2010 Soldier. Twenty-five of these were issued w/the following on the scale: "1291" w/the Swiss flag in color between numbers 12 & 91, and on the blade, below the thumb hole, "25/nn." I remember Tim had a hard time selling the few he had ordered. I wonder what they're worth today.

Now to actually address the original question, I try To limit myself collecting from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s era...generally. I have specimen outside of the range but they are users (EDC)

So my centrepiece from my area of interest... the Champion evolution, namely a, b, c and Champion Plus.

108mm Mauser - a discontinued model I'd only seen photos of and dreamed about, never thinking I'd walk into a local knife store that was selling a deceased collector's collection on-commission for the estate. It was mint in box with papers for $45.

93mm  Old Cross Farmer - this is the real centre piece of my collection, for me anyway. It was my grail knife since I went camping as a 13 y/o with a group of friends, and one of the older boys had this red metal knife with a white/silver cross on it. When they discontinued that style, I bought one with the new shield, but it wasn't quite the same. I got this one mint in box in the same estate sale for $40.

91mm Swiss Bianco Yeoman - chosen because it supplanted the Compact from it's 8 year reign on my altar of utility. I put on the blue plus scales.

Great thread. I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's knives! Thanks everybody.

By the way, Marc, are you sure that you "Climber" is not an original Traveller?

Ok I narrowed it down, more or less.
Hiker (Model 137U) from c. 1963-1966. Spartan (Model 234U) from c. 1960-1962.  Climber Small circa 1972.

Many Thanks to JazzBass for the ID on these  :salute:

I cannot find my pics so I'll have to add links.

It appears to be a “climber” , the only pic of a “traveler” I can find has the scissor pivot on the opposite site. I am certain, when comparing pictures on SAKWIKI that my example is a climber with the long nail file.
