If no one else is up for a summer-long challenge, maybe I'll join in with you guys and then just roll on for the summer.

Now, we need to think of a task for a file that isn't a file........... match striker? ferro-rod striker?   :think:

The single cut side makes a good ant-bite scratcher. I did get the double-cut side to work on a piece of wood. You have to put WAY to much pressure on the file for it to work. Not a big deal, as we knew this would likely be the case when we ordered the PADs. I don't know why SOG refuses to change their files. :facepalm:

One the plus side, if you took note I tried the PAD file, mine came in this morning. Everything works properly and lock tabs have equal resistance. All of the tools lock up very well and with confidence(unlike the OG Access locks). I am very relieved mine is O.K. Should be ready for the challenge! It's not the best day to take photos, but I did my best to photograph my PAD with the OG Access.

I like the PAD a lot so far. Not going to compete with a PowerLock in any way, but it looks good and seems good enough for most jobs. :)

Indeed they do. And the quality is still excellent judging from the ones I have. The PowerLock 2.0 "newest version" has a slimmer profile and thicker steel on the handles.  :ahhh

I just noted something else while taking photos this morning. The PowerGrab (discontinued as quick as it was released), actually has a Good file. Not like Leatherman or Victorinox files, but darn good.
Why SOG couldn't have adapted the PowerGrab file to work on the PA and PAD is beyond me. :think:

Today I have prepared the parcel for the PAD
To be send back to Chris@SOG
He said I can keep the pouch and the bit kit :D
As he only wants the PAD to be returned  :tu:
And a brand new complete SOG PAD set

I have to wait till Tuesday to drop the
