I'd like to know too, so I can find one with the two-piece jaw.

Charles.

I did a bit of searching around and I think the early ones came in those thin blister packs from the late 80s and early 90s that deteriorate badly. Would explain why nobody seems to have the packaging for one. The smaller Kutmaster tools came in a small purple box. Perhaps there were some MMs that came in a blue or purple box?

Have you contacted Kutmaster and asked them, CeHo?

Thanks for trying. :salute:

Oh well. It was worth trying. It is obvious they are transposing their corporate system overseas and aren't really concerned with their customers right now.

Looking at their Chinese produced tools, I can't see them staying in business too much longer, even with their cost cutting. Might want to pick up a few U.S. MMs while you can, CeHo.  :ahhh

Thank you, CeHo.

Glad I could help you spend your money. :multi:

I think a U.S. made MultiMaster is a must-have for any multitool collector and/or enthusiast. :)
I don't have a problem with them making the newer designs in China, but they are not doing a good job with it.
The original MM is all about getting the job done. The newer tools(RealTree and Wrenchheads for example) are just a bit junky and gimmicky. The tool locking on the new models is garbage, the cutters don't work, and they are too heavy compared to the MultiMasters.
Now is a good time to get a NIB MM, because their prices are going to go crazy when Kutmaster stops selling the U.S. made MMs.
