Another Challenge thread? What? Noooo! Why? Is this going to be any different than challenges of the past? YES IT IS.

Fellow members Nix and Wspeed, along with myself, have been ironing out a challenge plan for the newly released SOG PowerAccess Deluxe.
So, how is this different from any other MT challenge here on MT.o?
Nix has painstakingly created two checklists for the challenge. You can download the file for your Access version and print it out to complete it. If you cannot print it out, then copy/paste the text into a word document and complete it that way(then copy/paste the completed file to this thread on the last day of the challenge)The lists outline a few requirements for completing the SOG PowerAccess/Access Deluxe challenge(getting the prestigious badge for it too)
The purpose of the list is simple. This isn’t going to be a standard MT.o challenge, but rather a “common use” test to see if the SOG PowerAccess/Access Deluxe can make it. We don’t mean for you to run it over with your vehicle, use it as a hammer, or anything silly like that. The lists are basically just typical things a frequent MT user would/may use the tool for. Obviously the PowerAccess and PowerAccess Deluxe are quite different multitools. So, as a result, we decided two separate lists were necessary.
Whichever tool you decide to use must be the tool you work on the checklist with.

Along side of completing the tasks outlined in the checklists Nix created, we will need lots of photos(at least one a day) posted in this thread showing the tool in use(try taking the pictures of the thing on the list you are accomplishing for example). We would like to see as many "action" shots as possible. If you can, put that PowerAccess/Access Deluxe as much as possible! Beauty shots are nice as well, but if you can, please post an action shot with the beauty shot. :tu:
If you are working on something in the workshop and the screwdriver is within hand's reach, just get that PowerAccess/Access Deluxe out and see if it'll do the job.

The challenge starts June 1st! and is 30-days. To get the badge, you'll need to take a photo of each task you check off on the list. Example: AWL - "Use awl to drill a hole in leather or wood". All you need to do is take a picture of the hole you drill with the awl on the tool with the PowerAccess in the photo. :tu:

If you have any questions, we will answer them as soon as possible.
If you already have either the PowerAccess(MT.o MT of the Year 2017) or the PowerAccess Deluxe(the one that recently came out), then you're basically ready. If you don't have one yet, there are 28 days(from the time this thread was made) to get one and we would love to have as many people participate as possible!

Not that odd. Challenges have varied in many different ways. What you make of it and how much fun you have is up to you.

it seems like it'll be a thorough testing method, "different" kind of challenge.  :like:
The checklist and tasks look very sensible and good to me. I'll follow with interest  :tu:

I also am curious about the first PE blade test... in my experience all my SOG multitool blades came shaving sharp from factory, some could easily cut circles on fine print paper  :ahhh!

Nobody should be intimidated by the checklists, the 'tasks' are all fairly generic and are all the sorts of things you would normally use a tool for.  The idea is for people to learn something from the challenge and evaluate the two SOG's. Should be fairly easy and fun.

I do not have or plan to a SOG Power Access.

May review the checklist and see if possible to complete with another SOG that I have.

Looks like Wspeed and I will get going on or around 15 June with our Power Access Deluxes......assuming he's gotten his replacement by then.

We still need a couple of intrepid souls to join us with their Power Access tools. Since a few of us are still a month out from starting, I think there is plenty of time for some members to pick up a SOG Power Access/Access Deluxe and sign on to this challenge.
