The SAK in the Hat ...
on: May 08, 2018, 07:08:01 PM
Inspired by an original idea by Greg Jones and Mactire 404 ... Let's see your SAK's and headwear. From Bonnets and Baseball caps to Akubra or Cowboy hats ... all are welcome.

To kick off I offer you my Back Explorer Plus with my Tilley TH4 in hemp. As is usual it's faded to a light brown pinky colour but the underside remains cocoa brown. It's another Canadian thing I love and it's great for a day in the great outdoors winter or summer !

I've got a Tilley, one of the Outback models, that tends to be my "dressy" hat, in comparison to my usual surplus boonies.  As an example of this, here's today's sample of Trekker Tuesday.

After a few cheap boonies over the years I've been very pleased with my Tilley and I now have a couple. The TH4 isn't waterproof or anything but it's enough to keep a light shower off.

OMG, that hat did it’s job! We walked to the store and it was nice out, but far off in the distance it was like black, and when we came out it was nasty, well we were on our way home and about 3/4 of the way and it freaking DOWNPOURED! I’m not talking drizzle, I’m talking peanut size raindrops, we were drenched in 10sec! Yet when we got home it pretty much stopped.. we were soaked head to toe yet my head was completely dry, I mean the hat was soaked but the head dry..

When I saw the thread title, I thought of the pic I took for the 111mm challenge. I guess I'm a little off of this thread's real intent  ;)
