Just made this yesterday, not pretty but it does (actually it doesn’t, that is the point) the job.

I like it, but I think that trainer may still do some serious harm if used for stabbing.
Why aren´t you using rubber (which I think is the standard material for trainers)?

Good point Ron.
Yes a trainer made of rubber is ideal, but i think it is too challenging for me.
I had consulted with a friend of mine who makes rubber grenades for reenactors.
The process would involve making a mold off the knife I wish to create, cast the rubber with some hard object inside to give the trainer some stiffness, etc... It is a lot of work.

looks good so far to me, especially if it's intended to be used with cardboard, objects, mannequins and such and not in a live training with other human beings  :salute:

Looks excellent Kampfer.   I might too have left a thicker "point" but it does very much depend on what you are doing with it.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

now I remembered this thread, and I shall present you my two practice knives:

Cold Steel Vaquero grande, dulled and serrations removed, but same size and specs as my sharp, like new Vaquero.  :tu:
Ti Lite VI Aluminum. Also came trashed, was dulled and just pokes things, but waves open. A training knife for my two other Ti-Lites  :salute:
