Thanks Nick4.

I will tell you a funny story. When I joined MT.O back in 2009 after creeping the web site for a year, I did not have a single Swiss made army knife to my name. I was fully into plier based multi-tools at the time. Then after a few weeks, I wanted to participate in the SAK forum. I found a few locally sold SAKs and added them to my collection. Once I had a few in hand, I noticed the obvious quality, and after finding and browsing SAKWiki, I got a bit more interested in them after seeing how many different models there was. I told myself at the time that I was not going to collect them. In fact, I viewed myself as not a collector...that is, right up to the point that I found myself buying a Victorinox Soldier 125th Heritage knife. I struggled with SAK collecting from the start, wanting to focus on plier based multi-tools. After buying that Heritage knife, I quite my struggles and embraced SAK collecting for a time. These days, I am not all that active as I sort of ran out of room. I still try to add the odd one here and there though.

I will tell you a funny story.
Thank you for the story, Chako!

Let me tell you my story too.
I have bought my first SAK about 30 years ago (it was Victorinox Spartan and after several years I have given it to one of my friends). Later I have changed my EDC SAKs to Victorinox Picknicker 111 mm (and it's still with me now) and Classic SD.
During the years I time to time have visited Switzerland and bought some knives as souvenirs. I have had an opportunity to buy a lot of rare SAKs but I completely ignored it.
Meanwhile some knives I planned to give to my friends left in my hands by different reasons. So now I have a tiny set of SAKs. I do not use most of them, but I am not a true collector. Time to time I am about to sell some of them because they are not in use, but I am not very good as seller. So they just lay around and I like to look at them.  :climber:

It's very difficult to publish photos after Sir Chako, but I'll try.

You did a great job, Nick!

Tell us more. I collect for 10 years now - starting as a student with a very very small budget (the first 7 years I collect only LM). And I missed so much great and rare tools... it’s part of the game...

No, in my opinion the true collector is the person  for whom gathering is a passion and which is spending all his free time in search of information about collectibles. But I just have some SAKs.

Yes, it was an opportunity to buy many SAKs in Victorinox and Wenger outlets, but I missed it. Also, there were a lot of very interesting knives in small village shops, but I did not have a proper mood...
