Liner scans
on: May 21, 2018, 07:08:50 PM
So I have this idea to mod a Forester into a "Gatherer" by replacing the can opener with a pruning blade. Not quite a version of the Hunter but I felt that the bulkier cap lifter was more useful than the combo-tool.

Now, another thing I would like to do is to get some wood scales on to it and altering shape a bit. Being able to make a couple of drafts for shape without having to commit to taking the knife apart would be nice. To help in this I would be very grateful if someone who has a liner or scale laying around could scan it and upload the result here.

These are 91mm, but I thought that it would be a good idea to link them, given the topic title.

Hopefully someone with a 111mm liner scan comes along soon.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Bump!

Only got 2 111mm SAKs myself and since they're new, I don't feel like taking them apart either :D

It’s kind of obvious but it’s for a slide lock model, however they are the same shape as the liner.  I’ve already drilled the liner for 1/8inch pivots so be mindful of that if you need the rivet locations in your build.

Thank you! Right now I only want to experiment with the shape of the knife and see if I can make it look a little bit more traditional.

Looking forward to see what you come up with.  Just be mindful of how the tools sit and the spring shapes.
