Happy Towel Day!
on: May 25, 2018, 12:27:23 PM
Wishing all you hoopy froods and very Happy Towel Day.  It may not be a MT, but there's no doubt a good towel is a very versatile thing to have.

The Guide has this to say:

"A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you — daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough."
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Honestly, it might be one of the most used things in my pack. I carry a hand towel in my EDC, and it gets used more often than my PocketWrench!  :ahhh

Then again, my office shares a head with another one, and the custodian for the building.... well... I'm not sure even sticking a JATO pack in his pants would get him to move faster.

Towel day huh, and yet I just picked up two in the last week. One you wet and stick it in your fridge, when you need a cool down take it out and throw it over your neck, as it evaporates it stays cool, and some other one you wet and snap it a few times which cools it down, I haven’t put either to use but I guess we’ll see..

Oh no. Not again...

Can we dip the towel in liquid vitamins and use it all day with a corner of it in our mouths to keep us juiced up at work all day?

I keep one in the boot of the car.  Originally it was just meant for the dog, but it's been used for a number of other things since I have had it in there.

Towels can come in handy! It should be an edc, go to a dollar store and get a hand towel and toss it in a bag or car, they weigh nothing and take up no space..

When I travel I always have a lungi with me. You can wear it, and use it as a towel as well as a blanket!
