Was this MiniChamp XL altered?

I love buying mint in original box when at all possible, but some items I just have to buy and hope for a boxed item later.
I bought this XL and couldn't help but wonder if it had been altered to become an XL.

I put the original scales back on...the former owner put new black scales on....it did look good, but I wanted original.

One thing that makes me question the validity is the photos I have seen of an XL,  the slanted nail file is on the opposite side of what mine is.

Congrats on the Minichamp XL Lisa... :drool:

The peening seems unaltered and corresponds to how Victorinox does it...The old style nail file on yours could have been a variation or evolution... Here’s why I believe soo... had to look no further than the nail file description on our beloved SAKWiki...

Thank you jaya_man!  :cheers:  I do love this little XL.  I just get a little worried when I buy used items without box.
The other owner had put new black scales on it (it did look VERY good), but I wanted the original scales on, and thankfully they snapped right on no damage to the scales.
