A lucky day
on: February 01, 2019, 04:27:17 PM
I had a day off today and mrs Mechy needed some hiking shoes for our trip next summer.
So off to the big city we went.

We visited a sporting good store first but didn't find alot of stuff apart from some outdoor clothes for her (she's quite new to the great outdoors).

So we drove to the city centre and visited the adventure store.
After fitting and buying the shoes she had her thought on for a few days already, we went to the register to finish our shopping.

On my way there I noticed a pricetag in a display reading "Wine Master -70%"...
But no Wine Master left! :ahhh

So I checked their website on my phone and noticed they had another one in a store closer to home, but in the other direction .

I called the store there and asked if they could confirm.
"Yes, we have 1 of those"
- "can you put it aside for me?"
"We don't do that actualy"
- "I will be there within an hour...?"
"Ok then"

So I rushed over there!
Walked in the store and sure enough... there it was, safely BEHIND the register.

I got it marked down from €139 to €42, which is an awesome deal on a 130mm wood scaled Ranger type.

The leather sheath is stunning!
I don't have any fancy wines and drink it about once a month or less.
So at full retail I doubted I'd ever even consider one.

Great plus too: there are 2 versions, Olive and Walnut.
Olive is more expensive and nicer, but was never offered in this store.
However, my Walnut scales are almost as light as Olive! :D

Happy me!! :D

Lots of tilted pics. Sorry! Too excited to turn them around right now.

Fellow countryman Top-Gear24 has pointed out to me that there is some other stuff marked down alot...

Including the Heritage PST! :ahhh

Not going to buy those since I'm trying to focus on Swiss made stuff regarding multitools.

And they can only be ordered...
And my Paypal account is still shut down... and will stay so

I haven't decided whether 3 Heritage PST's are enough ...

One is none and two is one ...

So that would make three two, and four three...

Maybe I should order more ...

Just kidding guys  ;)

I've ordered 3 Heritage PST's last night, I'd been watching the PST since early Januari.  Remember when I bought the Wenger PocketGrip and those old style Wenger Pathfinders?  I left home that day to buy myself a Heritage PST, since it was at -30% at that time (still costed around 190 Euros  :ahhh), but found the Wengers.  Two weeks later the PST was at -50%, it was then that I decided to wait as long as possible, since this store sometimes goes down to -70%, and last night, they did  :woohoo:.

Oh, I should add, I just went to the AS store near  my home since their website said they had one Wine Master in stock, turned out their stock was wrong ...

But they contacted another shop nearby and they had one left, which is now stored behind the counter for me to come pick it up tomorrow  :D

Show content
And I've ordered two more, but the guy at the shop didn't know if I would ever get those, since the stock in their central storage place said -6 .  If in two weeks it turns out they can't get me my 2 "extra" Wine Masters I get my money back, so no harm done  ;).

Funny side note ... I don't even drink wine .
(except for the "one time a year can't refuse even though I already said no thank you a dozen times glass"  ::))

And at first I only went there to buy one (yes, you read it right ONE) as a gift for my father's birthday, in March (and he does pop/uncork a bottle regularly  :D).

Went to pick up my first Wine Master today (2 more on the way, if I'm lucky  :ahhh).

Pics taken inside with bad lighting and smartphone  ::).

Mine seems to be more dark than yours Nick, which is what I wished for (I like that dark brown walnut wood).  It's not as dark as my best Rangerwood, but then again, I've only seen one with such dark and beautiful walnut wood like that.  And it does have some nice graining in it, so I'm a happy TG  :D.
