Day 17 - working nights sometimes means that when others have dinner you will have breakfast

(Image removed from quote.)

[It's not failure if you learn something from it]

Night/late shift is tiring.
Had to do quite some night time back in the Airforce times  ::)

Great breakfast pic  :tu:

It is, but where I work it is worse during the day apart from sleepy tired night shift is fantastic!

Isn't it hard to file your nails at such a narrow file?

What did you do in the air force?

The file on the hook works fine for me correcting broken nails on the go.
I can also use it in closed position as I left that layer on the outside.

I was a speSmurfpillst for Radar systems (on ground and in aircrafts). Was around a lot.

Did you grind down the can opener on the yellow SAK? Cos that screwdriver looks a lot more useful than the can-opener!

+1

And how did you convert that hook into a file? By sanding/Grinding/Filing etc?

The hook on some SAK models like the Compact comes with a file.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Ok, thanks! I have been curious about that file for some time.

Ahh cool! As awlsome as it sounds?

Thanks Matt - it's a lovely size for bimbling in the woods.  :salute: Not as obvious as your Yellow Peril if I drop it though  :ahhh Love those scales. I have some plus ones - just waiting for the right SAK to dress up.

Day 19 - using my B&B SAK today when harvesting chilli. These SAK's are actually related. From the beginning it was one Explorer and one camper and the old camper blades lives in a spartan that a friend has, he found an old spartan with really abused blades and got my spares. The scissor and blade springs lives in the B&B SAK and the campers saw lives in my expedition

And today I needed scissors

Farmers are great. But for me, the opener layer is of little use.

That´s why I prefer a few other alox knives :

- The Carver SW, by SwissBianco, which has the Farmers´s opener layer replaced with a serrated main blade and a pruning blade.
- The BuSchroder, which has the Farmers´s opener layer removed, for a slim and lightweight outdoors tool. It´s my most used SAK atm.
